It is with deep sorrow and profound respect that the Chicago Principals and Administrators Association mourns the passing of Al Llorens, President of the Illinois Education Association.
President Llorens was a principled leader, a fierce advocate for educators, and a tireless champion for students across the state of Illinois. His unwavering commitment to public education and labor justice set a standard for union leadership that we all strive to meet. His loss is felt not only by his colleagues and the members he so passionately served, but by the entire educational and labor communities of this state.
On behalf of the members of CPAA, I extend our heartfelt condolences to our brothers and sisters of the Chicago Teachers Union and to the entire IEA family. We stand with you in solidarity during this time of grief, and we honor Al Llorens’ legacy by continuing the work he so boldly led.
May his memory be a blessing, and may his example continue to guide us in our collective fight for equity, dignity, and justice in public education.
