National Principals Month is here. This month long celebration is a time dedicated to acknowledging the crucial role that school principals play in guiding our students, supporting our educators, and leading our schools to success. Observed each October, National Principals Month is a collaborative effort between AFSA, NAESP and NASSP.

"Principals are integral to the success of America's schools," said American Federation of School Administrators (AFSA) President Dr. Leonard P. Pugliese. "They drive daily operations and shape the long-term vision of our educational institutions. By creating positive, nurturing learning environments, they ensure students feel safe, supported and inspired. Principals elevate instructional quality through critical support and professional development for teachers, ensuring educational standards are met. They engage families and community members, fostering strong partnerships that enhance the educational experience. Through their commitment and strategic leadership, principals help every student reach their full potential and prepare for success in a rapidly changing world."
“It’s our honor to celebrate school leaders for their unwavering efforts to foster the well-being and growth of the students and staff under their care,” said National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) CEO Ronn Nozoe. “During the most challenging time in education, each of our school leaders has transformed what is possible for our students and those who teach them. I hope we all take time this October to #ThankAPrincipal for leading, innovating and advocating on behalf of their students and staff.”
“Principals are visionaries who strive to shape the future of our communities. Their impact reverberates far beyond school walls, influencing generations to come,” said National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP) Executive Director L. Earl Franks, Ed.D., CAE. “As the role of principals evolves, our commitment to supporting them remains unwavering. National Principals Month is just one way we spotlight their crucial work, but our dedication to empowering these school leaders is a year-round mission.”
