Major Education organizations have urged federal leaders to immediately release reserve funds and use any other available flexibilities without reducing support for other nutrition programs.
AFSA has joined other labor unions in urging the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to ensure that Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits continue without interruption.

On Wednesday, September 23, 2020, I made the statement below to the Chicago Board of Education and CPS management:

As we honor her life, let's take a lesson from her words—"fight for the things that you care about. But do it in a way that will lead others to join you."

The American Federation of School Administrators (AFSA) today endorsed Joe Biden and Kamala Harris for president and vice president of the United States.

In a letter to the members, AFSA President Ernest Logan wrote, "Vice President Biden and Sen. Harris are the best advocates for public schools. They believe strongly that a well-funded public education system is vital to our nation."

As we close in on Election Day, we ask you to look at the candidates’ records, and you will clearly see the difference on the support they will provide public education.
